We have had a lot of interest this year in “remote workers”. Now is the time to talk more about the possibilities of extending this practice. We have the positive support of workers: they love the idea. Let’s address the data security people: my response is, as expected if you have read what I write, is the CLOUD. Now the immediate managers: it is no different than any other project you have managed (watch me, I will show you). Top level management: think of the savings in these huge buildings you have: funding a remote worker is less than your square foot charge to house him.
Yet another great post from Alan Wilensky
In considering these actions and the upcoming appeal, and the 55,000,o000 API calls made to Todd’s fantastic EDI Platform….I would say that in terms of merit, Loren Data Corp and its wonderful partners, the developers who wrote the code that made those API calls….will eventually outweigh GXS’ where it counts: In delivering value to the companies who are “calling EDI’s Future”, a future where the innovators become preeminent.
We need a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model which will enable community SCM (C-SCM) for both large and small companies that outsource manufacturing. We want communities of supply chain owners, customers and supply partners to use any public or private cloud environment. We want our community to take advantage of scalability, security and reliability of current cloud environments. Our goal is to centralize information and create real-time, cross-community visibility. Cloud is all about dynamic choice, ‘just-in-case’ computing power and scalability.
Ever see these funny square things that work like a barcode? QR Code (abbreviated from “Quick Response” Code) is the trademark for a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code) first designed for the automotive industry. More recently, the system has become popular outside that industry due to its fast readability and large storage capacity compared to standard UPC barcodes. The code consists of black modules (square dots) arranged in a square pattern on a white background.
Supply Chain Management as a Service (SCMaaS) – Is it Real? What a great idea ! Can’t somebody just do this for me ? Why do I have to reinvent the wheel ?
