Both Sides Now
Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere,
I’ve looked at clouds that way.
But now they only block the sun,
They rain and they snow on everyone
So many things I would have done,
But clouds got in my way.
I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It’s cloud illusions I recall
I really don’t know clouds at all
Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels,
The dizzy dancing way that you feel
As every fairy tale comes real,
I’ve looked at love that way.
But now it’s just another show,
You leave ’em laughing when you go
And if you care, don’t let them know,
Don’t give yourself away.
I’ve looked at love from both sides now
From give and take and still somehow
It’s love’s illusions I recall

Face it! For the second time in the (almost) four years that people have been facing time and having face time with my daily blog, I’m publishing a post titled “Face Time.” I wrote that previous Face Time post during the time when I was facing my first open heart surgery AND when my only son (who has a great face) was leaving for a five-year program at the University of Edinburgh.
Now it’s time to face
- another day,
- the consequences of the U.S. presidential election,
- my ongoing recovery from open heart surgery AND unexpected pacemaker replacement surgery,
- another New England winter,
- my son returning home on December 22 for the holidays, and
- the faces in the photos I took yesterday.
If you have the time, please tell me which faces are your favorites.
Do you have time to face the music of “Feliz Navidad”?
