There’s a storm inside.
Heart palpitates rapidly-
breathless and dizzy.

Tornado grasps me.
My feet off the floor, I soar
high above the trees.

The earth grows smaller.
Flying past planets and stars,
I inhale moonlight.

Beams radiating
from my body and bursting
out of every pore.

I succumb to you,
spent and exhilarated,
riding your rocket.

Brian Blade & The Fellowship Band // Landmarks

Jazz You Too

I chose this album deliberately, I thought it would be perfect for the end of  an exhausting week, reflecting some peace of mind, reminding an awkward  feeling of mission accomplished – the sounds I listen, help me to make sense out of the mad things along the week. I welcome the silence and the sounds of this amazing album! They bring about the good things, and how they are worth to be lived!

Brian Blade: drums
Melvin Butler: soprano and tenor saxophones
Jon Cowherd: piano, mellotron, pump organ
Chris Thomas: bass
Myron Walden: alto saxophone; bass clarinet;

Jeff Parker: guitar (7, 9)
Marvin Sewell: guitar (3, 4, 6, 8, 10)

rum halloweenFor me, I’m not very festive during Halloween (…it’s just too hyped up. I mean, we’re not even getting free candy anymore!), but this is a great way to hide your disdain for the holiday, and smooth over your scrooge-like exterior with some surface-level holiday cheer.

Here are four easy ways to use Jack-O’Blast in your Halloween cocktail. Warning: they get increasingly lazy as you go:

Captain’s Cauldron

Seemingly fancy (I just love the illusion of fanciness), this is a cool, festive punch to have available at a Halloween party. Everyone helps themselves!
